She is the founder of Integrative Healing Arts which utilizes Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and energy healing to treat patients. Tsao’s holistic approach integrates ancient Eastern philosophy and healing methods with Western scientific paradigms of health. This powerful combination helps each patient learn how to heal so they can take charge of their health destiny.

Tsao started her career in the corporate world, but after 10 years as a successful executive, it became a draining and uninspiring environment for her.She felt called to a different path, one that would allow her to help others in significant ways and bring meaning and purpose to her life. This path became a journey into the ancient healing traditions of Eastern Medicine.
As an experienced, highly trained licensed acupuncturist and healer, Tsao serves patients in the New York City area and continues to study the ancient healing arts and the art of classical Chinese medicine. She received her Masters of Oriental Medicine at Tri-State College of Acupuncture and served as a senior clinical faculty for 18 years there . Much of her style is influenced by the teachings of her mentor, master practitioner Kiiko Matsumoto. Tsao has also taught Kiiko Matsumoto style of acupuncture in graduate and postgraduate doctoral level programs and supervised in the physician certification program.
Tsao completed her training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Research Certification from the California Institute for Integral Studies and is excited to be part of the new medical frontier of the psychedelic and plant medicine renaissance. She has done training in Grof holotrophic breath work and is a certified facilitator of David Elliott breath work.
Tsao is a NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) Diplomat in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She has completed postgraduate studies in classical Japanese herbal medicine known as Kampo and doctoral-level training and certification in Sports Medicine Acupuncture®. She also served as senior clinical faculty at Tri-State College of Acupuncture for over 17 years, and The Eastern School of Acupuncture, and on the Board of Directors of ASNY (Acupuncture Society of New York) for 5 years. She trained extensively with Kiiko Matsumoto, Dr. Mark Seem, and Dr. Richard Bandler, the founder of Neurolinguistic Programming. Tsao is also a Certified Sports Medicine Acupuncture® Specialist, a licensed massage therapist, and a graduate of the world-renowned Swedish Institute.
License & Certification
Education requirements and standards for practitioners vary from state to state. In New York state, only a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) can administer acupuncture. In choosing a practitioner, it’s important to inquire about their training and the studies they have undertaken. Tsao is licensed and certified with these organizations.
About the Practice
Skilled and compassionate expertise integrating the wisdom of ancient Eastern healing traditions with Western philosophies in a nurturing environment.
Integrative Healing Arts is conveniently located in the heart of New York City’s Union Square neighborhood. The serene, intimate office is an oasis of healing in the hustle and bustle of NYC.
Eastern and Western philosophies are used in conjunction to not only treat illness but to explore greater states of well being. Acupuncture with other Asian therapies such as moxibustion, cupping, GuaSha, and various forms of massage and herbal medicine are incorporated to address your health concerns.
What is integrative healing?
A true integrative healing approach takes into account the whole person (energetic, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects), family history, their health history including all aspects of lifestyle now. We use all appropriate therapies available - conventional and alternative - to help bring the person back to being “whole”.
The Philosophy
Does one size fit all?
Standardized treatments are not effective in the long term. I have departed from the quick fix, "need" based sessions which don’t result in optimal health and are based on a “broken and fix” model.
Each person that I work with comes with their own unique experiences and health goals.
There is a certain level of commitment and discipline necessary to achieve a high level of health and healing. With expert guidance and support in an on-going program format patients are able to achieve balance, stability and wellness in their lives.
In my programs, you will experience expertise, guidance, support and personal attention that address your underlying health issues.
Our approach emphasizes patient/practitioner balance and the healing of the whole person on physical, emotional, energetic and spiritual levels.
